Spring Cleaning Inside and Out!

The last few days have been a whirlwind. I had my bloodwork done on Friday and will have my results tomorrow. Looking forward to getting these results. This is my 2nd time of getting my blood checked every other week. I hope my HcG levels are still below one (negative). I was a little nervous getting them done on Friday the 13th, but the whole day was a wonderful day. I’m not very superstitious. It is just on your mind b/c you hear about the spooks of Friday the 13th all the time.

We have been busy w/ real estate from 9am to midnight almost every night. We wanted to go out w/ a dear friend of mine for her 35th bday on Saturday, but was not able to go. We had several offers going on and did not get home until 1 am. Tiring. Oh well, if all that we have been working on lately comes together, we will have some very happy clients.

In the midst of all the craziness I get through it b/c of 3 things. One, I love to see my clients that trust me dearly smile when we accomplish buying or selling a home for them. Two, my workouts in the morning really help give that endorphin rush to make it through these long days. Third, I dream of our vacations. I think about getting to NC w/ family and friends, going to a beautiful beach or travelling through Europe.  I love to travel and we are always looking to get away for a trip. We both really want to go to Australia in the near future. Any thoughts or ideas about Australia, where to go, what to do & any other advice is greatly appreciated.

In thinking about getting away and being on a beach in a bikini gets me thinking about getting in better shape. I work out every day and try to eat well all the time. I’ve noticed since my molar pregnancy that my weight will not budge. I gained about 5 pounds during my 11wks of pregnancy. I have a certain weight (healthy weight, but a little on the lower side of healthy) that I feel comfortable at. I was about 5 pounds heavier than I  like to be before I found out I was pregnant. Therefore, I’m left with wanting to lose about 10 pounds.

So, while spring cleaning my closets and giving the clothes to Salvation Army that I don’t wear very often, I started thinking of ways to spring clean my diet. I need it. What do I need to change to get my body to budge those extra, frustrating pounds? This is going to take more thought than normal b/c I really do think my body has changed due to my molar pregnancy. If only I could give the weight away that I don’t want to wear.

We got the patio furniture and bbq out and ready to go the other day. This is always fun for me b/c MG is an amazing griller and I love the foods he makes. We have decided to try to clean up our diet. I will try to write on the changes we are making and any progress along the way. I want to help others of you that are frustrated and plateaued. I believe that working out (weights and cardio) help w/ toning and looking good, but I truly feel that food is where the weight comes or goes from. We have a piece of chocolate Tolberone every night and I don’t see this habit ending, but we are taking the chips away. We are trying to have tea more often and not coffee all the time. Until I write some more on this….here is a wonderful link to read. I am learning a lot from this. Hope you enjoy this read as well   http://shine.yahoo.com/event/springcleaning/spring-clean-your-body-top-10-detox-foods-2479462/

Let me know your thoughts or questions. Below is a great pic of MG and I on our Mexican voyage “Adventures Mayas” snorkeling about a large sea turtle. What a beautiful creature and amazing time. We got to go ziplining, rappelling, snorkeling in the Cenotes (pic above) and snorkeling in the ocean. Great time–give it a shot.

  1. so….the Giant Sea Turtle is the COOOOLEST thing I have EVER seen!! Awesome!
I have never been anywhere fun, certianly not Australia…so I have no advice to give.

Good luck with your internal spring cleaning – I have often envisioned “showering” off excess pounds like you scrub off dirt.

  2. Dear Suzanne~So glad to have found your blog and many thanks for stopping by mine and leaving a note. Double Cheers because if I am reading your blog correctly you are from NC too (although currently living in Canada)!! We currently live in Clemmons but are relocating to the Charlotte area soon. I love snorkeling and got my scuba certification just about 2 years ago. It is the most soothing thing in the world to me. That is one cool turtle too-I have not seen one in the wild yet and look forward to that day. I too am trying to lose some lbs specifically my mid section. I did find last week when I virtually eliminated sugar that I lost 3 lbs. I so love sugar though. 🙂 I look forward to following your blog for your outlook on life, fitness and the yummy recipes you share.

  3. Thanks so much for reading. Yes, I am from NC and only left a few years ago. Love it there and can’t wait to get back soon. I try to get back at least 2-3 times a year. Thanks for the suggestion about sugar. I will definately give it a go, I too love sugar. Have you tried Agave? It is cactus juice and replaces sugar. I like the gold color better than the blue. Let me know.
